It was the first Council meeting for the 14th Council term held after the 13th General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting, chaired by newly installed REAAA President Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin Abdul Karim, was attended by 20 elected Council members. The Governing Council welcomed the new Honorary Secretary – General, Dato’ Ir. Haji Hamizan Mohd Inzan and the new Honorary Treasurer – General, Mr Richard Steel to the Council.

The meeting also saw the election, co-option and nomination of two Vice Presidents, six co-opted members and committee chairmen respectively. ARRB Group Ltd, Australia was re-elected as one of the Vice President with its Managing Director, Mr. Gerard Waldron as its official representative. Indonesian Road Development Association (IRDA) was elected as the Vice President and represented by its Chairman, Dr. A. Hermanto Dardak.

The Council meeting also adopted the election of 6 individuals and organisation co-opted as Council members to assist the Association in various aspects such as technical, finance, management and administration. They are Dato’ Ir. Han Joke Kwang (Malaysia), Mr. Kieran Sharp (Australia), Dato’ Dr. Dennis Ganendra (Malaysia), Mr. Keon-Chang Cho (Korea) and Mr. Kwang Ung Hwang (Korea) and MLTM, Korea.
